"Rain!" Her voice rang out, but barely made it passed the first sheet of rain. The strength behind the wind bent her over as she cast her spell outward. She wasn't going to let anything deter her from my goal. She slammed the heavy book on the ground the spine hit with such force that the book popped open,in the wind the pages whipped back and forth, yet, the rain never touched the pages. She started chanting, the pages started give off a green glow. Fenrir barked behind her, she turned towards the giant black wolf with a smile. Ever since the infamous wolf came to her world, and they had ran into each other in the forest hunting, he had been attached to her hip. People would called him tamed, until they saw him devour a village and she did nothing to stop it. Why would she? She detested the human world she was forced to be part of. That is why she was summoning someone who would help her bring sweet savory chaos to this world. The book flared a brighter green, the pages whipped more wildly. Suddenly a vortex of green energy shot skyward engulfing the book.
"I summon you,by thy name," she cried in delight "come to thee, oh god of Mischief, Loki!"
The vortex grew larger and swirled more violently as a shape appeared floating above the book. The vortex dissipated leaving the shape to fall to the ground, it landed in a crouch over the book. The figured looked at the pages turning in the calming wind, closed it, picked it up in its hands then stood to face the summoner. She stood there silently looking at a tall, dark haired man with green eyes. He stood there watching her, and her him. She slowly put her hands out in front of him as if asking for the book. The man's lips twitched as he settled the book into his summoners hands. Only after she held it tightly against her chest did she feel like she could talk. She didn't comprehend the fear she was going to feel meeting him, her idol, a real god.
She swallowed dryly, "Are you, Loki?"
"Who summons, the god of Mischief?" He paused slightly to take in the view of the ravishing woman in front of him holding a book like it was her protector. Her red hair spiraled about her at the ends, her eyes sparkled like the rainbow bridge, and her pointy ears poked our from her hair. Nymph, his mind noted, and a very beautiful one at that. The sunlight glow of her skin, slightly warmed him inside. Just then she offered him her hand.
"I am Sigyn," she chirped "I called you to help me bring chaos to this world." Sigyn batted her eyelashes in a pleading way, hoping he would take her hand in partnership. Loki lifted his eyebrow.
"You dare ask me for a favor?" He snarled. However, Sigyn didn't back down.
"Yes," she answered without hesitation. The ease in which she said it shocked Loki to silence. This nymph was fearless, he liked that. Most were afraid when he was around, but no this female was elated for him to be there, in fact she summoned him! He was downtrodden knowing what his answer had to be though.
"I must refuse, I do not wish to start a war."
His undertone said no defiance, but the heartbreak Sigyn felt prevented her from remaining silent. "No! This is unfair!" She marched up to him "You have to stay, please?!" She grabbed onto his cloak. Loki turned to loosen her hand from his person, but couldn't look away from those strange colored eyes. "Please, create chaos in this world with me? I don't belong here! And I cannot stay here without bedlam here and there!"
Loki grabbed her fingers and pried them from his cloak and dropped her hand. Sigyn felt alone and pathetic, why was she acting so crazy? Fenrir nuzzled her. Eyes brimming with tears she whirled and buried her face in the wolf's thick black fur, the smell of pine calmed her slightly.
"Father," Fenrir spoke, it was the first time Sigyn had heard it. She looked up into his eyes, but she couldn't see them he was looking at Loki who had stopped and turned to finally see his son.
"Fenrir, what are you doing here on Midgard?" Loki asked stunned to see his eldest son. He hadn't seen him for a long time, not after Fenrir jumped off the rainbow bridge.
"Nevermind that Father," Fenrir growled "as your son's provider and companion, Sigyn has the right to make a request from you."
She looked at both Loki and Fenrir with wide eyes. She had no idea that being the wolf's friend would get her the prize she wanted. Loki shut his eyes thinking, but could find no way out of the situation. "Alright, she may have one request, no more."
Fenrir looked down at Sigyn with serious knowledgeable eyes, "I suggest you ask to live in Asgard with my father and I."
Sigyn hearts soared with hope. To live with Loki and the Gods and Goddesses, would be such a gift. However, she felt inadequate for Asgard. Fenrir placed his forehead to her face.
"Please, come back home with me, Lady Sigyn," he whispered. The vibration of his deep voice warmed her in the pouring rain. She couldn't deny him anything, he had been her best friend, the only she had felt like she could trust; without him Midgard would be so much worse.
"Then that is what I wish for, I would like to live on Asgard," she turned to Loki then added "please?"
Loki massaged his forehead, this was going to cause many questions. His father and brother will bombard him, a nymph had never lived in Asgard before. With a shout and a wave of his hand the Bifrost was opened for them. Fenrir nudged her forward into the rainbow vortex. She climbed up onto his back and clung to his fur, the next thing she knew they were in a big gold dome.
